Lauren Conrad Gets Domestic With Boyfriend William Tell!

Lauren Conrad isn’t only a reality star, author and fashion designer.
Fresh off a Mexican vacation with boyfriend William Tell, The Hills beauty, 27, is also a big help around the house.
I hemmed my boyfriend’s slacks the other day,” she tells me Wednesday during the Downy Difference Pop-Up Laundromat in NYC. “They didn’t fall apart, so I think it turned out OK.

Where this caring California girl excels, however, is with the washer and dryer.
We do laundry,” she says with a laugh. “I usually do it on the weekends when I have downtime. Usually a lazy day will be laundry day. You have all the different loads, so it takes several hours to get through it all.

This week, Lauren has gotten schooled in the laundry department.
I think the biggest thing I learned recently is the multiple ways to use fabric softener and how to use it properly,” she says. “I’ve also learned the importance and the benefits you get from it.” She continues, “It’s like you use conditioner, after you use shampoo. You need to use the softener after detergent. I personally love fresh-smelling clothes, especially when it comes to linen or bedding. That’s where I want a stronger scent that’s going to last. For day-to-day clothes, I use dryer sheets.
Keeping her clothes in mint condition matters most. “I like to shop,” she says. “I think it’s important with all the time and money you put into your wardrobe, to take care of it.

She shares a story.
I went home this weekend for my grandmother’s 80th birthday, and I told my mom I’d be coming to NYC and I’d be out here doing this,” she begins. “She was like ‘I love Downy! I’ve used it your whole life.’ It’s funny, because that was the smell of home, and of good laundry. I thought that was neat—it’s the scent that reminds me of home. It’s one of the nice things about having that lovely fresh scent to her clothes.

Hm, what’s does she appreciate most about Downy?
Their scents are my favorite.,” she says. “If you’re going to have all your clothes smell like something, it should be something you love. They’re subtle, but fresh. I can’t handle an overpowering scent. Lush, the purple one, is my favorite. It’s the one my mom uses. It’s a comfort for me. It smells like home.”
