Man, what can’t that girl do? She’s a #1 New York Times bestselling author, she’s starred in a hit reality tv show (without losing her dignity *cough Heidi cough*), created successful clothing lines, runs laurenconrad.com and always, always has ridiculously good hair. Bitch. Just kidding. Our love for Lauren runs deep. Like far, far below Nemo’s home deep. So you can imagine our excitement when we got to talk to her. She talks about her latest novel, Infamous, the conclusion to the Fame Game series (if you haven’t read it, do it NOW), fashion and good life advice, of which she has plenty. Take it away, Lauren…
Hi Lauren, thanks for talking to us! Congratulations on Infamous. How do you find the time to write? What’s your process?
I like to write in the morning when my mind is clear and rested. For my novels I begin with a character and story outline, and then write based off that. For the beauty and style books it is actually more difficult as I have so much info and so many product shots. Those books take a lot longer to write.
Speaking of beauty products, what’s the one you couldn’t live without?
Moisturizer. Starting with hydrated skin is so important.
What do you do when you’re having one of those days where you just feel gross?
When I just feel like nothing is working a high pony or bun is an easy and sleek fix. Also concealer is amazing to cover up imperfections. Finally when I feel my worst I find the better I dress the better my mood is so don’t throw on your sweats.
Ah, we are very guilty of throwing on our pjs! Ok so what book changed your life?
Not sure about life changing, but one of my favorite books to read is The Great Gatsby.
What advice do you have for young aspiring writers?
Don’t stop writing and reading, keep pursuing what it is you love.
We got to know you on The Hills… what do you miss most about your reality television days?
I miss the crew to be honest. So many years together following intimate details of my life, they became like family to me.
On that show you had lots of ups and downs when it came to love and relationships. What did all that teach you?
Honesty is so important in any relationship.

What advice would you give your 20-year-old self?
Less is more. Don’t over bleach your hair and don’t wear so much makeup!
Ok last one… It’s 10pm on a Saturday night, where are you and what are you wearing?
At home, watching a movie with friends. A cozy sweater and leggings.
