Lauren Conrad Covers the Allure Magazine in April 2014!
Lauren Conrad goes glamorous and sultry on the April 2014 cover of Allure magazine.
The 28-year-old entrepreneur opens up to the glossy about her chic California look,
her coveted mane and more. The April issue of Allure hits newsstands on March 31, 2014. Check it:
On how to master the California look:
“Take any trend you want and relax it. That’s how California does it. If it’s silk button-up shirts that are in, you probably don’t button them all the way, and you cuff a sleeve, you know what I mean?
It’s almost like how your outfit looks at the end of the day.”
On decorating her home:
“If it was up to me, my home would just be over-the-top girlie and vintage but I share my home with a gentleman now.”
On how she’s maintained her relatively clean celebrity profile:
“Doing reality television for such a long time made a big difference. People were in my bedroom. You have to represent yourself well no matter what you do.”
On her hair:
“I can’t remember the last time I didn’t have extensions. Extensions are great.
And they’ve come so far in the last few years.”

Lauren Conrad Shares Her Favorite Things With Us!
If anyone understands time management, it has to be Lauren Conrad.
Considering everything the fashionista/author/designer has her hands in
right now, it's amazing she's able to even plan a wedding, much less
make time to see her friends. But that's exactly what Lauren encouraged a
group of fellow journalists to do at the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel for
Malibu Island Spiced Girls' Day. The blond-haired beauty sat down with me in a gorgeous poolside cabana to talk her favorite things and sip cocktails.
My Favorite...
Design theme: Eclectic. I like mixing new and old, so modern pieces with vintage pieces.
Way to wear my hair: Sort of a mess! I like waking up with it messy and putting a few curls in it.
Splurge food: Pizza. I’m not even a picky pizza person! I’ll eat bad pizza. I love pepperoni.
Cocktail: Malibu Island Spiced Mojito (for the recipe, see below).
Educational TV program: Frozen Planet.
Vacation spot: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Piece of clothing to wear around the house: Sweatpants! Old, soft, sweatpants! Like the tight ankle.
I’ve had them forever, and there are nail polish stains on them! Love those.
Saying or motto: I don’t have one of those! I need to get one.
Concealer: Dior. It’s like sculpting concealer. I’ve used it for years.
Lipstick: Stila has a really good gloss, but it dries matte and stays forever.
Bronzer: Chanel.
Shampoo or conditioner: John Frieda’s purple shampoo, which is good for my blond because I go brassy easily.
Hotel to visit: Esperanza in Cabo.
Oscar look: Cate Blanchett. So pretty!
Spring trend: Pastels!
Girls' day out: I’m a fan of a lazy day. At the beach, at the pool, read a magazine, gossip with your girlfriends, and have a cocktail.
To make Lauren's favorite cocktail, the Malibu Island Spiced Mojito, use 1 1/2 parts Malibu Island Spiced, 2 packets of truvia, 3 lime wedges, 3 mint sprigs, and 3 parts soda water. Muddle lime, min, and truvia at the bottom of a Collins glass. Add Malibu Island Spiced. Top with soda water and garnish with mint sprigs.

Lauren Conrad Talks Cocktails, Clothes and Comforts!
Since Lauren Conrad is basically an expert on all things fabulous, I happily accepted an invite to
chat
with her at a Girls’ Day Out she hosted with Malibu Spiced Rum at the
Beverly Hills Hotel. Yummy cocktails were served up poolside at the
iconic LA hotspot (the recipe for my favorite libation is below from the
event is below) while Lauren gave OK! the lowdown on her idea of the
perfect girls day and what we can expect from her to-die-for fashion
lines.
OK!: What’s a relaxing girls’ day for you and your friends?
I think just that—relaxing. Sometimes the best days are unplanned so I love being at a pool or at the beach, especially when it starts warming up and you can enjoy the weather. When you’re with your best girlfriends you don’t need to plan anything, you can just kind of hang out and talk, have a cocktail!
OK!: Who is part of your crew these days?
They’re pretty much the same to be honest. It’s funny because I work with a lot of them. Two of my best friends I’ve started businesses with so I get to see them throughout the week anyways. They’re all people I grew up with.
OK!: What type of cocktails are you into?
I like a little more of a fancy cocktail, maybe a garnished cocktail or possibly one with fresh herbs in it.
OK!: Is there one place in LA you love to go for drinks?
I haven’t been to a bar in so long! The Tasting Kitchen in Venice does really nice cocktails. They’re not crazy but they do some really good ones.
OK!: What fashion trends are you so looking forward to?
I’m loving all of the pastels for spring. I’m a huge pastel person. I kind of never stop wearing them but I feel like they’re more appropriate in spring. Definitely pastels and a lot more skirts. I feel like I’m missing my midi skirts. I can still do the minis during the winter because I throw a tight on but you can’t really do the little midis and the easy breezy skirts so I’m excited to do some of those. And then the easier layering pieces.
OK!: For your lines, is there anything you’re exploring that you haven’t done before?
We just did for our fall collection, so it won’t be out for a minute, but we just started showing it is a kind of fitted bodysuit. It’s kind of tailored and it’s strapless and it has a big bow on the back. It’s a sexy little piece. For your own girls’ day, check out this super simple cocktail:
Malibu Coconut Spiced
1 1/2 parts Malibu Island Spiced
4 parts coconut water
Build ingredients over ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Lauren Conrad Loves Making Time for 'Date Night' with William Tell!
2014 is still in its beginning stages, but it's already been quite the promising year for Lauren Conrad.
Still basking in the joys of becoming engaged to musician-turned-law student fiancé William Tell, 34, in October, the Malibu Island Spiced rum spokesperson, 28, has two flourishing clothing lines (Paper Crown and Kohl's), a personal interactive lifestyle site she manages, a latest story idea she is in the early stages of pitching for her L.A. Candy book series – and a newly purchased multi-million dollar home in her native town of Laguna Beach, Calif.
Yes, needless to say, "I'm very happy," the former star of The Hills told PEOPLE on Saturday when we sat down with her in a poolside cabana at the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel. "I've been very, very fortunate this year." But despite a rigorous schedule – one that Conrad doesn't mind at all, by the way – she still makes time for what's truly important. "It's just like any other couple with full-time jobs," Conrad explains of balancing career with romance. "You make date night and you have weekends, hopefully. Not [all] weekends, but some weekends. I'm really fortunate in that I get to do things that I love, so it doesn't feel like work. I think if you're doing something you love, it's not a lot. You're excited every day."
When the happy couple – who recently celebrated their birthdays together in Los Angeles with a hoedown-themed bash – do get free time, a lot of it is spent playing host and hostess. "We haven't been to a club together in a very, very long time, if ever," Conrad said. "We probably entertain more than we go out, to be honest. I love just having a couple of people over for dinner. It's easier for me. I don't have to wear shoes. Everybody's happy."
On the menu for a typical night at casa de Conrad?
"I like easy foods," she said. "But if I'm doing a dinner party or something more formal, then I'll do a full meal. But I think easy bites are fine. They keep everyone happy. You do a really good cheese and meat plate and fruit and you do maybe a couple of flat breads." And what's a party without some libations? The rum drinker is especially a fan of the line she's partnered with because it's only 70 calories per serving. "I like entertaining, I like hanging out with my friends, I like having cocktails with them," Conrad, who admitted she's probably a bigger drinker than Tell, said. "I think it's nice to not have to feel like you have to compromise because you want to be responsible in your choices. I'm a fan of a low-calorie beverage." Adds the former reality star: "I like to be the host. I tend to be running around the whole time, which is so funny because everyone's like, 'Sit down, sit down.' But that's my happy place, like clearing plates with one hand and serving a drink with the other. I love being a busy host."

Lauren Conrad Talks About the Trend 'Purple Hair': "I'm Not a Big Fan"!
f you're looking for another famous lady to try out purple hair -- a la
Nicole Richie, Kelly Osbourne, and Ireland Baldwin -- don't think about Lauren Conrad. "I'm not a big fan of purple as a color! It looks great on them but not me," the Paper Crown designer told Us Weekly at the Malilbu Island Spiced Hosts "Girls Day Out" with Lauren Conrad event in Beverly Hills on March 8.
Even though she's not about to go lilac with her hue, the bride-to-be, 28, isn't afraid of experimenting with rainbow-colored hair. "I have pink hair dye in my shower, and sometimes for fun I'll do it on a Friday and then have pink hair for the weekend," Conrad, who got engaged to William Tell last October, told Us. "It washes out! I'm not fully committed to color but once in a while it's fun."
Conrad is also willing to take a few beauty risks. "I feel like there's a lot of glitter happening on faces. I'm obsessed," she says. "I definitely want to take a few more chances this season with my makeup and try pops of color." Although glitter's presence at her upcoming nuptials remains uncertain, Conrad has also been dedicating her energy to LaurenConrad.com, a lifestyle and beauty website. "We focus more on internal beauty, if that makes sense, so what to eat to make your hair and nails grow or your skin look great," she says. "We're doing a post on foods that compliment each other to release more nutrients. It's so fascinating!"
