Lauren Conrad Talks Fall Style And Her @PaperCrownLuvsU Collection!

Lauren Conrad's fall schedule is packed chock full with the unveiling of new collections for her two fashion lines, LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's and Paper Crown, along with the accessories collection XO(eco), but one thing is for certain: The Laguna Beach, Calif. girl always makes enough time to dress to impress each and every day. "I have a short attention span, so being busy suits me. Right now, my main focus is Paper Crown. We're still tweaking the collection and doing fittings every week," Conrad told Us Weekly in August.

As the temperatures cool, Conrad can't wait for her new leather pieces to hit shelves. "This fall, I'm really looking forward to the return of leather. I love leather!" says the designer, who tells Us one of her favorite pieces this season is a leather skirt that hits just above the knee. "I'll wear it with a bootie and a looser fitting top for a cooler look, but I've also worn it with a button-up blouse for a more polished look. I've worn it to business meetings and out to bars. And I've got a whole stack of leather pants in my closet!"

Though Conrad admits to having a desire to wear pastels year-round, the bulk of her fall Paper Crown collection is "a little darker" than fashionistas may expect from the laid-back Cali girl. "I tried to make this one a little edgier," says Conrad, admitting that she struggles with designing only pieces she'd wear. "You have to always remember it's a business. I have to think, 'OK, this basic top might not be the most creative piece, but it fits everyone and sells well, so it goes in the line. You need those bread-and-butter pieces," explains the style mogul, who is also the author of eight best selling books, a soon-to-be launched artisanal products website
(Thelittlemarket.com) and a lifestyle site (Laurenconrad.com).

Conrad's ultimate style tip? Always be appropriate, regardless of the season. "My biggest concern is always appropriateness," she says of her unbreakable fashion rule. "So I usually start with the vibe I'm going for. I do a lot of black and white, especially if I'm going out to dinner," says the star, who dates USC law student William Tell. "It just feels classic." Sums up the fashionista: "My style has changed as I've grown up. But I'm always going to be a California girl."
