Lauren Conrad
has done it all. She’s the veteran of two hit reality shows on MTV,
designed two clothing lines, penned six books—one on style and one
beauty— writes two successful blogs and now, she is launching an
e-commerce site in September! Titled The Little Market, Conrad’s
new business plan will sell artisan crafts made by women around the
world to help them make money to support their families. She details how
the partnership began, in the July issue of Marie Claire magazine. As
it turns out, she’s working with a friend, Hannah Taylor Skvarla, who’s
an advocate for the organization Human Rights Watch. “We’ve been to Bali and El Salvado and Africa and India and Nepal,” the 27-year-old glossy cover girl said. “Hannah
is good about educating me about not just the beautiful places we go to
but also the issues people there face. I think when you’ve been
fortunate,
you have a moral obligation to things for others.”
